The role of this group was to develop joint statements of demand for new/improved ICT solutions that will increase the efficiency, quality and environmental sustainability of healthcare. This includes both ICT for 'healthcare operations' and ICT for 'healthcare delivery', which were ranked 1st and 2nd respectively in the 2013 EcoQUIP pre-workshop survey of priority areas for collaborative innovation procurement actions. This led to a spin-off Horizon 2020 project entitled European Procurers Platform - eHealth - Transforming the market for eHealth Solutions (EPP eHealth); involving some members of the EcoQUIP consortium and healthcare organisations from Denmark, Poland and Spain.
ICT is also a high priority area for PPI/PCP actions in Horizon 2020.
As indicated above, EPP eHealth is a spin-off Horizon 2020 project relating to the ICT thematic area. This group was led and coordinated by Optimat.
There has been a strong coordination and mutual learning link developed between the EcoQUIP and EPP eHealth projects. EPP eHealth will conclude at the end of 2016 with a ‘Joint Statement of Unmet Needs’ and a ‘PPI/PCP Strategy for eHealth’.
More information on the outcomes of EPP eHealth are available on the project website.
